Finance blog

Finance in the classroom and the really real world …

About

A space where finance meets the internet. Really, blogging beats HTML coding … no hands down. A multitude of shameless self-marketing links will follow …

Structure
The structure of the blog is simple. The information resides on the blog, while the large files – lecture notes, etc – resides on my Bucknell webspace. This is probably the optimal solution as the bandwidth should suck down quite a lot.

Feedback
Ideas and suggestions are invited, encouraged, and repeatedly ignored – oh I am sorry – are appreciated. There are some profs that do this, but I am yet to find the approach that is optimal from the students’ instructional needs.

Podcasts
Are under development. The question is — will students still show up for class if they can listen to the lecture. For a class of 15 to 20, this may be counterproductive, unless the focus is on certain areas that historically are considered to be challenging for the students, such as options theory and advanced CAPM related fun. For a class of 300+, podcats is a way to go. Ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

Contents
Modular content development. Initial focus is on the structure and contents of a case based introductory finance class. Second step is an advanced finance class, which will be a quantitative financial engineering class. The third step is corporate governance.

Research
I will list research projects, etc. Also my Ox, C++, VBA and Mathematica hacks wil find a genuine home here.
